The biodegradable stretch fibre used in selected Wellicious garments has been independently assessed against the Material Health criteria of the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard and has been awarded a Gold Level Material Health Certificate by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.

This certification evaluates the impact of materials on both human and environmental health. The criteria at each level are designed to support the transition towards safer materials by encouraging the elimination of toxic and unidentified chemicals and promoting ingredients that can contribute to a safe, continuous cycle.

This innovative stretch fibre has been evaluated for its impact on both people and the planet. The certification framework supports the development of materials that are safer for human and environmental health while helping to advance a more circular future.

In addition, this stretch fibre is designed to break down more quickly in biologically active environments without releasing harmful substances. This helps to reduce its long-term environmental impact compared to conventional elastane while maintaining the comfort, fit and performance expected from premium activewear. Furthermore, it does not contribute to long-lasting microplastic pollution in the same way as conventional synthetic fibres, making it a more responsible choice for the future of fashion.
