Wellicious in White; Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga  derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy in the body by practicing regularly meditation, chanting mantras, pranayama and the yoga asana practice. It is commonly called the ‘yoga of awareness’.  The Sanskrit word itself kuṇḍalin translates into ‘circular’ and can also be translated int ‘snake’, representing the coiled energy in the body . The Kundalini practice aims to awaken the dormant serpent power in all of us.

Kundalini Yoga can be understood as a devotional yoga pratice and the practice of kriyas and meditations in Kundalini Yoga are designed to raise the body awareness and to prepare the body, it’s nervous system and the mind to handle the energy of Kundalini rising.

Practicioners and teachers of Kundalini yoga traditionally wear white clothing as it is said that the white clothing expands our auric radiance by at least one foot. A strong aura gives us a strong and solid identity and projection, and negative influences are automatically filtered. Wearing white is also an exercise in awareness, as it takes more consciousness and care to keep white clothes clean.

" You have to wear a natural fiber and you have to wear white. It's a pure color therapy and it's called auric color therapy." Yogi Bhajan – introduced Kundalini to the United States.
