A Summer of Milestones for Wellicious
Aktie
From an outstanding Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark certified score of 95 to international press, industry conversations and a growing movement around non-toxic yoga and activewear, Summer 2026 has been one to remember.
At Wellicious, we’ve always believed that yoga and activewear should do more than just perform. It should be thoughtfully designed. It should be made with materials we can feel good about wearing. And it should challenge an industry that has become far too comfortable with plastic-based fabrics, vague sustainability claims and disposable fashion.
This summer, that conversation grew louder. And we’ve been proud to be part of it.
A milestone worth celebrating: the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark
One of the biggest highlights of the summer was being awarded the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark, with an outstanding certified score of 95.

For us, this recognition means far more than a badge. The Butterfly Mark is an independent certification that assesses businesses across environmental, social and governance performance. Achieving this result was a significant milestone for Wellicious and recognition of the work that goes into creating a more responsible business.
It also reinforces something we have always believed: real sustainability requires evidence, transparency and accountability - not just good marketing.

The Guardian recognised our Cradle to Cradle approach
Our commitment to material health and circular design also received recognition from The Guardian, which featured our Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold collection as a lower-impact choice. Read the feature here.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold is particularly meaningful to us because it goes beyond simply asking whether a product is “sustainable”. It looks at what products are made from, how materials affect people and the environment, and what happens to those materials at the end of their useful life. That way of thinking is fundamental to how we design at Wellicious.
Taking Wellicious to new audiences
This summer also saw Wellicious reach new audiences internationally, including coverage in ELLE China. International recognition matters to us because the questions we are asking aren't limited to one market.
- What are our clothes made from?
- What chemicals are used?
- Could our activewear contain substances we would rather not have next to our skin?
- What happens to garments when we no longer want them?
- And can performance clothing be designed differently?
We believe the answer to that last question is yes.

Calling out greenwashing
The fashion industry is full of words like conscious, eco, responsible and sustainable. But words aren't enough. As consumers become more informed, sustainability claims need to be backed by meaningful evidence. That is why certifications, traceability, material information and independent assessment matter so much to us. We don't want to simply tell you that our products are better. We want to show you why.
Rethinking what activewear should be made from
For decades, synthetic fibres have dominated activewear. But performance doesn't have to mean polyester, plastic and materials that shed microplastics. At Wellicious, we continue to question the conventional approach to yoga and activewear and explore what is possible when material health is considered alongside performance, design and aesthetics. Because what we wear while we move matters. And so does what touches our skin.

Choosing slow fashion over fast fashion
We have never believed that better yoga and activewear means producing more of it. Our approach is rooted in slow fashion: thoughtful design, considered materials, quality and longevity rather than constant overproduction and disposable trends. It means creating fewer things, better. And thinking about the entire life of a product - from the materials selected at the beginning to what happens at the end.
Putting non-toxic yoga and activewear on the agenda
Perhaps one of the most important developments this summer has been the growing conversation around non-toxic yoga and activewear. We believe this is a category that deserves far more attention. We spend hours in our yoga and activewear. We sweat in it. We stretch in it. We wear it close to our skin. So why shouldn't we ask more questions about what it's made from?
At Wellicious, we're committed to putting material health at the centre of the yoga and activewear conversation. That means looking beyond how a garment looks and performs and asking what is actually in it.

Putting PFAS and chemicals under scrutiny
The conversation around potentially harmful chemicals in clothing is growing - and rightly so. PFAS, for example, have attracted increasing attention because of their persistence and widespread use across consumer products. For us, this reinforces the importance of asking better questions about the materials and chemistry used in yoga and activewear. What goes into our clothes matters. And consumers deserve greater transparency about what they are buying and wearing.
And the press kept coming…
From international coverage to conversations around circular fashion, material health and non-toxic yoga and activewear, the summer brought more attention to the ideas we've been championing for years. But while the coverage is exciting, it isn't the reason we do what we do. Because these aren't simply PR wins. They are signals that the conversation is changing.
This is bigger than a summer of milestones
The growing interest in non-toxic, circular and lower-impact yoga and activewear tells us that people are starting to ask different questions. Not just: Does it look good? Or: Does it perform? But:
- What is it made from?
- Is it safe to wear?
- Where did it come from?
- What happens to it when I'm finished with it?
Those are the questions we want to keep asking. Because Wellicious isn't simply about making another yoga legging or another sports bra. We are working towards a different vision for yoga and activewear — one that is non-toxic, circular, biodegradable and microplastic-free.
Summer 2026 gave us plenty to celebrate. But for us, the milestones are not the destination. They're proof that the conversation is moving - and we're just getting started.
Now, back to work.
