As the world becomes more conscious of the impact that our actions are having on the environment, the fashion industry is also starting to take notice. The use of sustainable textiles in fashion is becoming increasingly important, not only for the well-being of the planet, but also for the success of businesses in the industry.
And it is to meet this growing demand that INNATEX exists, under the patronage of the IVN (Internationaler Verband der Naturtextilwirtschaft e. V. - International Association of the Natural Textile Industry). INNATEX is the only international trade fair for sustainable textiles in the world that offers a place for businesses to connect, share experiences, exchange ideas and solutions. The exhibitors have also the possibility to obtain information on product certification at the fair and discuss social aspects alongside ecological factors when considering goods and the value chain. To date, more than 200 labels from around 20 countries are regularly present when the green fashion industry meets in Wallau to present their latest collections to the growing interest of the trade.
Knowing the importance of the fair, we at Wellicious were so proud to have been selected by INNATEX to be one of the six "Design Discovery" and had the opportunity to exhibit and present our circular concept as well as our suits over the past three days. Our founder Heike Petersen Cunza was also was invited to speak in the “Circular Fashion” panel, hosted by Mirjam Smend, owner of Greenstyle Munich. About the panel, Heike says “it was such a nice experience to share our knowledge on creating cradle to cradle certified & circular products. How we design and make products today shapes the world we will inhibit tomorrow.”
