The stresses and activities of your everyday lives are often reflected in the tightness and discomfort in our hips. One of the reasons is because many of our negative emotions such as stress, anger, sadness etc. like to live in places in our bodies where they can hide out. Places that get the least amount of stretching and release. You all know the feeling of moving into a hip opening posture and while you may feel its intensity and discomfort at the moment, you always feel so much better afterwards. In this workshop you will really delve deep into our hips. To do this your body needs to be very warm so you will commence the class with a heat building, hip and thigh opening sun salutation sequence and flow through sequences that will incorporate hip openers where you will spend time breaking down and exploring the postures deeper.

Cathy wants to show you how yoga (asanas from hatha Yoga and kriyas from Kundalini Yoga), different yogic techniques like mudras (energetic hand and finger positions) and specific breathing can help you to coordinate the two hemispheres of your brain. Relaxation (yoga nidra) as well as two efficient meditations from Kundalini Yoga will give you a clear head and even more brains for your daily life. You´ll also get to know some interesting -but short!- medical research results on learning and the functions of our brain in combination with yogic knowledge! Cahty has started practicing yoga and meditation in her teenage-years and her first teacher was her father, a holistically working psychiatrist and Kundalini yoga teacher. That was in 1989 on a visit to Los Angeles, USA. She has been teaching Yoga for 10 years now and has found a wonderful and unique way to show „physical“ yoga and its deep philosophical knowledge on mankind to many different people- middle school kids and seniors, mums and dads, sportive and sick people. „I strongly believe that yoga should serve people - that´s why I love to combine Hatha Yoga Styles and Kundalini Yoga. They complement one another perfectly in all their aspects !“

There are many things in life that are beyond our control. However, it is possible to take responsibility for and to change one’s state of mind. The techniques of meditation are very simple. However, reading about them is no substitute for learning from an experienced and reliable teacher. A teacher will be able to offer you guidance in how to apply the technique and how to deal with difficulties. Perhaps most importantly, a teacher can offer the encouragement and inspiration of their own example.
Why don’t you treat yourself to a meditation course to:
- Take your mind off things
- Reduce stress and mental anxiety
- Improve sleep
- Help you to feel refreshed
- Improve mental alertness
