Baobab - New Exotic Fruit From Africa

Filed under: Nutrition — Tags: — Wellicious @ 6:38 pm

The exotic fruit from Africa contains six times more vitamin C than oranges and twice as much calcium as milk;-) The pulp, which is powdery and white will be used in products such as cereal bars in Europe. In Africa the fruit and its leaves are also used to cure illnesses such as fevers and kidney disease. The leaves of the Baobab can be eaten as relish. The pulp is dissolved and mixed with milk or water to a delicious drink. Even the seeds are used by Africans as edible oil. The Baobab tree can live for hundreds of years and grows up to 50 ft!!!
